Fabric Dyes, Inks, and Watercolor Pigments Demonstration and Talk

On Wednesday, August 14, 2024 Chris Carter will present a demonstration and talk sharing her recent passion for creating fabric dyes, inks and watercolor pigments from locally foraged plants. Chris is a full-time artist. She travels extensively to explore the world with pen and brush. She teaches art workshops in both the United States and Wales focused on understanding color, sketching, watercolor techniques and nurturing one’s inner artist. Her experience creating pigments and fabric dyes from plants she forages has greatly expanded her color palette and her appreciation for even the most subtle changes in the landscape as the seasons cycle through the year. Even when traveling she gathers plants and transforms them into pigment to bring home with her. Join her for a peek into the mysterious world of color chemistry.
